NEWS AND UPDATES: MSBA Approves Schematic Design – On January 27, 2010 the Massachusetts School Building Authority Board voted to approve Carlisle’s schematic design. The Board committed to reimburse the town for 40% of the eligible project costs, up to approximately $7 million. In order to receive the reimbursement, the Town now has 120 days to vote on funding the $20 million project. Special Town Meeting, April 5 - The Selectmen have called a Special Town Meeting for Monday, April 5 at 7:00pm in the Corey Auditorium to consider a Warrant article for funding the balance of the project. The warrant article must pass by a two-thirds majority. Special Election, April 13 – The Selectmen have also called a Special Election for Tuesday, April 13. If the Warrant article is approved at Town Meeting, a majority of voters in the Special Election must approve a debt exclusion to fund the project.
